The idea here is to facilitate game play between gamers that already have the rules and sheet and need a way to play due to distance (and later covid.) PapaMrdr May 16 4:30pm. I don't own any of the IP, so I do not want to replicate the whole game. It's designed for pretty quick skirmish game, although I imagine you could use it to do larger battles without any problem. It's just the models, a hex map, and a way to roll shared dice.

It has a damage system reminiscent of the FASA Renegade Legion system, but not quite as grindy and with decent rules for building your own mechs. Mech Attack looks really cool for a small indie print and play. In my brief skim through it looks more abstract than BattleTech, but not quite as abstract as BT:Alpha Strike. I picked up the original version of CAV at a convention many years ago, I thought the miniatures looked really cool but I never got a chance to play. I always liked the mechanic in Centurion where you would roll for hit location against an enemy vehicle. This action-packed wargame covers combat from the platoon to the battalion level, but centers around the company-sized Century. The primary combat units are high-speed antigravity tanks the game also includes rules for ground vehicles, artillery, and infantry.

I haven't played the newer Heavy Gear Blitz version, although I did pick up the PDF version 40556248 File: 725 KB, 1200x900, -22-439492.jpg. One thing I liked about the original version was how consistent the rules were between the tactical game and the associated RPG, allowing you to blend the two easily. Heavy Gear is faster mechanically and handles damage in a more abstract way than BattleTech, gears (aka mechs) tend to blow up pretty fast if you can get a solid hit (damage is multiplied by the the margin of success on a hit.
RENEGADE LEGION CENTURION PDF MEDIAFIRE UPDATE
As far as Mech miniature combat games, the ones that I can think of off the top of my head are Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear (and the WWII variant Gear Krieg), Reaper's CAV, and a print and play game by Armor Grid Games called Mech Attack.
